Bop Bar to the rescue

Sometimes there just isn't time to walk to the Loop for a new food truck.  That was the case Thursday and we were glad to find the Bop Bar truck at our doorstep on Columbus.

Lacking time to venture far from the office, we were rescued by the Bop truck.

Spicy pork, indeed.

Chicken jerk and pork jerk

The Jerk Truck's claim to fame is "the first of it’s kind to cook on the streets of Chicago. Carrying with it the best Jerk Chicken in Chicago and other Jamaican delights."

Truck @  City Front Plaza, behind the Tribune Tower

Eric went for the pork, Kathryn the chicken.  No accounting was kept of the dangerous looking hush puppies.
"Grilled boneless skinless chicken marinated in our Rude Boy Jerk.  Marinade then cooked to perfection, chopped and serviced on Jamaican hard dough break with your choice of Rude Girl, BBQ, and Cilantro Aioli pon di side."  (We choice BBQ sauce).

"Yukon potatoes cut not too thick and not to thin, fried in corn oil and then tossed in our Top Rankin' Jerk rub."  The pork was in the box.

Piko Street

Catching up from late July-

Piko Street is a favorite, billing itself "Chicago Area Food Truck serving rice bowls, tacos, sliders, and baos with our Asian Twist!"

Kathryn had the "Everything Bowl" - kimchi fried rice topped with all the proteins, veggies and an egg.

Eric had "Piko Rice Bowl" - rice topped with chicken, ribeye, portbelly and veggies.

La Cochina and Piko Street were both on Columbus Street.

Rice Bowl.

Very good!
