Piko Street Kitchen (252 days later)
This odyssey has been going for a while and the gap between visits to Piko Street Kitchen was long. On Friday, April 15 we sampled Pico Street Kitchen at Daley Plaza and it was 252 days since our first taste of Pico Street on Sept. 4, 2015. (Historians dispute the date of the first food truck stop but the initial post was a picture of food from The Jibarito Stop on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.)
Friday? Piko Rice Bowl (rice topped with chicken, ribeye, porkbelly and veggies). Topped with a fried egg, naturally.
On Friday, Piko Street joined a grand circle of food trucks as part of city sponsored Food Truck Fest. There was live music and long lines. There were opportunities to add new trucks to our record such as The Slide Ride parked next to Piko Street but the siren of the Rice Bowl was too powerful...

Jerk. Modern Jamaican Grill
The trekkers found Jerk at Cityfront Plaza on April 1. In addition to speedy service on a chilly, drippy day, we had great spicy chicken. "Grilled boneless skinless chicken marinated in our Rude Boy Jerk. Marinade then cooked to perfection, chopped and served on Jamaican hard dough bread with your choice of Rude Girl, BBQ, and Cilantro Aioli pon di side."

Triumphant return for Bruges Brothers
We'd been waiting since mid-September so when we heard Bruges Brothers were going to join the food truck fest at Daley Plaza we broke our food trucks on Thursday only rule and hot footed it over to see the Brothers.

Best ever Reuben?
We thought we were going to have our first encounter with Pierogi Street on Thursday but when we got to City Front Plaza we found Soho. No problem, Kathryn said her sandwich was "the best Reuben I've ever had in my life." The corn beef melted in her mouth. The sauce was fantastic.

Garlic shrimp at The Cajun Connoisseur
We struck it rich at Clark and Monroe today with The Cajun Connoisseur. Best yet? We can't betray Bruges Brothers, Pico Street... But we have to say it was pretty awesome. Eric had the Shrimp po boy sandwich on italian bread with tomato and spinach and Kathryn jumbo shrimp "nestled in a bath of creamy cheese grits"
